A proper upgrade for the Navara D40 2.5
If you’ve spent any time around a Navara D40, you’ll know the standard exhaust isn’t exactly inspiring.
It does the job, but that’s about it.
This side exit system is designed to change that. Not by making it obnoxiously loud or over the top, but by giving the truck the kind of sound and setup it should’ve had from factory.
Built and tested on our own Auto House Shop Navara, it’s a simple upgrade that makes a noticeable difference every time you drive it.

Fitment
This system has been fitted and tested on a 2006 Navara D40 King Cab (2.5 diesel).
It should fit other early D40 2.5 models, including Single Cab and Double Cab variants, but as with most things on these trucks, there can be small differences.
If you’re running something slightly different or you’re not sure, just drop us a message before ordering.
Not designed for:
- 3.0 V6 models
- Later facelift D40s (not tested)
Installation Notes
This isn’t a full cat-back replacement — it’s designed to work with your existing system.
- You’ll need to cut the factory exhaust at the thinnest point under the gearbox
- The new section then slips over and clamps into place
- It uses the factory mounting points, so everything lines up properly
If you’ve done basic exhaust work before, it’s straightforward. If not, any garage will sort it quickly.

Each one is made just down the road from us here in Mid-Wales.
No mass production, no generic imports — just properly made stainless systems built for real use.
Sound
This isn’t one of those systems that just makes noise for the sake of it.
- Slightly deeper tone at idle
- Proper turbo noise when you get into it
- A nice growl under load
- No horrible drone when cruising
It suits the truck, which is exactly what you want.
Why Side Exit?
The factory rear section is bulky, hangs low, and doesn’t really do the truck any favours.
Switching to a side exit:
- cleans up the rear end
- improves clearance
- removes unnecessary pipework
- and just looks better overall

UK Distribution Stock: If a product from DBA, Pedders, Xforce, Xtreme Clutch, Ryco, or Saber shows a stock quantity, it is held at our partner distribution centre in the UK. These are dispatched directly to you and typically arrive within 2–4 working days.
Ravenol Supplier Stock: Ravenol items not held physically by us are supplied via the UK distribution network and typically arrive within 2–4 working days.
European Warehouse: Certain performance components are sourced from European distribution hubs and carry a lead time of 5–10 working days. This is clearly labeled on the product page.
International Supplier Stock (Auxbeam): Auxbeam items not held physically by us are supplied via international distribution and carry a lead time of 10–15 working days.
Manufacturer Stock (Australia): Parts supplied directly from Australia (DBA, Xforce, etc.) are processed as special orders. These do not show a live UK quantity and carry extended lead times of 6 weeks as specified on the product page.
