Low Viscosity | ISO 4925 Class 6 | Ideal for Modern ABS / ESP Systems
RAVENOL DOT 4 LV is a very high-specification, low-viscosity brake and clutch fluid developed for modern vehicles fitted with ABS, ESP, ASR and other electronic stability systems. It meets and exceeds the latest ISO 4925 Class 6 standard and complies with key international brake fluid specifications including FMVSS 116 DOT 3 & DOT 4 and SAE J1703 / J1704.
Thanks to its exceptional low-temperature flow properties (maximum 750 cSt at –40°C), RAVENOL DOT 4 LV ensures fast hydraulic response, consistent pedal feel and reliable braking performance in everyday driving — particularly in cold conditions.
This is the brake fluid we use in many of our own daily-driven cars and trucks at Auto House Shop. It’s not a motorsport fluid, but it is a high-quality, OEM-level solution from a brand we trust for vehicles that still deserve properly specified fluids.
What It’s Designed For
- Daily-driven cars, 4x4s, vans and light commercial vehicles
- Vehicles equipped with ABS, ESP, ASR and similar systems
- Applications requiring ISO 4925 Class 6 low-viscosity brake fluid
- Vehicles specifying DOT 3, DOT 4 or DOT 4 LV brake fluid
- Maintaining smooth pedal feel and safe, consistent braking performance
Not intended for motorsport or extreme track use – dedicated racing brake fluids are recommended for those applications.
Key Features & Benefits
- Conforms to ISO 4925 Class 6 (also Classes 3 & 4)
- Meets FMVSS 116 DOT 3 & DOT 4
- Meets SAE J1703 / SAE J1704
- Very low viscosity for rapid ABS / ESP response
- Excellent cold-weather performance (≤ 750 cSt @ –40°C)
- High chemical stability and oxidation resistance
- High lubricating performance for long component life
- Neutral behaviour towards seals, hoses and brake system materials
- Fully miscible with all DOT 3 / DOT 4 brake fluids of the same specification
Application Notes
- Suitable for hydraulic brake and clutch systems in cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles where a non-petroleum-based fluid is specified
- Safe to mix with other DOT 3 / DOT 4 / DOT 4 LV fluids of the same specification
- For best performance, a complete brake fluid change is recommended
- Not suitable for vehicles with mineral oil brake systems (e.g. certain Citroën models using LHM fluid)
Always follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations when servicing brake systems.
Storage & Safety Information
- Brake fluid absorbs moisture – check and replace at recommended intervals
- Keep fluid clean and dry to avoid brake system damage or failure
- Store only in the original, sealed container
- Avoid contact with paintwork – rinse immediately with plenty of water if spilled
