The Nissan Navara NP300 is expected to tow, haul, work and travel without complaint. While engine servicing receives most of the attention, the gearbox, transfer case and differentials also rely on clean, correctly specified fluids to keep working properly.
Old, contaminated or incorrect fluid can contribute to poor gear changes, driveline noise and premature wear. This kit removes the guesswork by supplying matched Ravenol fluids in quantities based on the NP300’s listed capacities.
Every kit includes enough fluid to service the front differential, rear differential and transfer case. Simply select whether your NP300 has a manual or automatic gearbox.
NP300 Driveline Fluid Capacities
The approximate capacities listed for the Nissan Navara NP300 are:
- Front differential: 0.85L
- Rear differential: 2.85L
- Transfer case: 1.5L
- Manual gearbox: 3.33L
- Automatic gearbox: approximately 10L total capacity
- Automatic gearbox routine drain and refill: approximately 4–6L
Capacities can vary slightly according to the vehicle specification, fluid temperature and service procedure. Always confirm the final level using the manufacturer’s recommended filling method.
Included with Every Kit
Front and Rear Differential Oil
4L Ravenol VSG 75W-90
The front differential requires approximately 0.85L, while the rear differential requires approximately 2.85L.
This gives a combined requirement of approximately 3.7L, so 4L is supplied to service both differentials.
Ravenol VSG is a fully synthetic, high-performance gear oil designed for heavily loaded axle drives and differential assemblies.
Features include:
- API GL-4 and GL-5 performance
- Strong protection under heavy loads
- High thermal and oxidation stability
- Reliable lubrication during towing and off-road use
- Suitable for servicing both NP300 differentials
Part number: 1221101-004
Transfer Case Fluid
2L Ravenol Transfer Fluid DTF-1
The NP300 transfer case requires approximately 1.5L, so 2L is supplied.
Ravenol DTF-1 is a fully synthetic transfer case fluid formulated to provide stable lubrication and dependable power transfer under changing operating conditions.
Features include:
- Developed specifically for transfer case applications
- Stable viscosity under high loads
- Smooth transfer case operation
- Strong protection against wear and oxidation
- Suitable for the NP300 four-wheel-drive system
Part number: 1211128-001
Choose Your Gearbox
Manual Transmission Kit
The manual transmission option includes:
4L Ravenol MTF-2 75W-80
The NP300 manual gearbox requires approximately 3.33L, so 4L is supplied.
Ravenol MTF-2 is a fully synthetic, low-viscosity manual transmission oil designed to provide smooth gear selection and dependable protection under mechanical and thermal stress.
Features include:
- Smooth shifting in hot and cold conditions
- Strong shear stability
- Reliable wear protection
- Good cold-start performance
- Designed for modern manual gearboxes
Part number: 1221103-004
Automatic Transmission Kit
The automatic transmission option includes:
6L Ravenol ATF J2/S Fluid
The NP300 automatic gearbox has a total fluid capacity of approximately 10L. However, a conventional service does not drain all the fluid held inside the torque converter, cooler and internal transmission passages.
A routine drain and refill will normally require approximately 4–6L, so 6L is supplied for the standard service procedure and final level adjustment.
Ravenol ATF J2/S is a synthetic automatic transmission fluid developed for JATCO five, six and seven-speed automatic transmissions.
It is recommended for applications requiring Nissan Matic J or Nissan Matic S fluid.
Features include:
- Smooth and consistent gear changes
- High thermal and oxidation stability
- Strong protection against wear and corrosion
- Reliable performance under towing and sustained load
- Good fluid behaviour at low temperatures
Part number: 1211115
The 6L quantity is intended for a conventional automatic transmission drain and refill. It is not intended for a complete dynamic fluid exchange.

Why Service the Complete Driveline?
The gearbox is only one part of the NP300 driveline. The transfer case and differentials also work under substantial loads, particularly when towing, carrying weight or driving off-road.
Changing the fluids helps:
- Maintain smooth gearbox operation
- Protect gears, bearings and internal components
- Reduce wear under sustained load
- Maintain dependable four-wheel-drive operation
- Remove old fluid and accumulated contamination
- Support the long-term reliability of the driveline
Why Ravenol?
The fluids in this kit have been selected for their specific applications rather than using one generic oil across the entire driveline.
Ravenol VSG protects the differentials, DTF-1 provides the correct characteristics for the transfer case, and the gearbox fluid is selected according to whether the vehicle has a manual or automatic transmission.
That means each component receives fluid designed for the job it is being asked to do.
Fitment
Suitable for:
- Nissan Navara NP300 D23
- 2.3-litre YS23 diesel models
- Manual and automatic transmissions
- Four-wheel-drive models

Important Service Information
Fluid capacities are approximate and can vary according to the vehicle specification, fluid temperature and service procedure.
Always remove the filling plug before draining a differential, gearbox or transfer case. Fill each component according to the manufacturer’s specified procedure and confirm the final fluid level.
Automatic transmission fluid levels must be checked at the correct temperature using the specified procedure. The amount drained should be measured where possible, and the final level must be confirmed rather than assuming the entire 6L will be required.
If you do not have the necessary equipment or technical information, installation by a suitably qualified technician is recommended.
