Later UK-market Mustangs use a different engine oil specification from the earlier S550. Choosing oil based only on the viscosity printed on the bottle can leave you with the wrong Ford specification, while the Coyote V8’s large oil capacity means that one standard bottle is not enough.

We have matched the correct Castrol oil with Ryco’s premium SynTec performance filter and supplied the full service quantity in one box.

There is nothing else to calculate or cross-reference. The oil and filter arrive together, ready for you or your preferred garage to complete the service.

Castrol oil meeting the correct Ford specification

Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-30 is a fully synthetic engine oil meeting Ford WSS-M2C950-A, along with ACEA C2 and API SP.

This is the relevant specification for later UK-market Mustang 5.0 V8 models.

The later S550 takes approximately 9.5 litres when replacing the filter, while the S650 takes approximately 9 litres. Supplying two 5-litre bottles gives you enough to complete either service properly, with oil remaining for final level adjustment or future top-ups.

Motorsport-developed Ryco SynTec filter

Ryco is one of Australia’s leading filtration specialists. Its products are widely used across everyday vehicles, 4x4s and high-performance motorsport applications.

The Z928ST supplied in this kit is from Ryco’s premium SynTec performance range. Its high-efficiency synthetic media removes at least 99% of contaminants at 20 microns, helping protect the engine from the dirt and fine particles that contribute to internal wear.

It also includes:

• Reinforced wire-mesh media for increased strength and oil flow
• A high-temperature AEM rubber sealing gasket
• An anti-drain-back valve
• A steel internal core designed to prevent collapse
• Protection against high-pressure cold-start oil surges
• A 550 PSI burst-pressure rating

The Z928ST was developed and tested for the Gen 3 Mustang Coyote V8 used in Australian Supercars. That makes it a genuinely performance-focused filtration option, rather than an unknown budget alternative to an original-equipment filter.

Ryco positions SynTec as a premium upgrade over OE filtration, designed to provide high contaminant capture without restricting the supply of oil through the engine.
